David Hill has been awarded honorary Life membership of The Three Towns to mark his retirement.

David said ‘I would like to say a big thank you to The Three Towns for honouring me as they have. I have enjoyed every moment of working with such talented and friendly people, whether in the theatre, or on the concert platform, and I shall miss them all.

Congratulations to Ursula for receiving the Margaret Dakin Award, for dedication and exceptional service.

During the pandemic, Ursula has worked tirelessly to keep the society in touch; through weekly zoom rehearsals, weekly bulletins and telephone calls.

Ursula was presented the award by Chairman of the Society, Ann Batchelor, who said, ‘Her dedication, energy and enthusiasm for keeping the society members together is amazing!’

Well done, Ursula!

Jan’s Success on Ready Steady Cook

One of our talented Altos, Jan, and her sister took part in Ready Steady Cook.

Jan and her sister took part in the show in memory of their Mum, Ceridwen Lewis, who taught them how to cook. Ceridwen suffered from Alzheimer’s and sadly passed away just after her 90th Birthday.

The judges gave Jan and Chef, Ali’s Petretzikis, an outstanding win; complimenting them on their dishes and team work.

Janet said: “It was an amazing experience and to be able to have a lovely train journey outside our own area during these restricted times.”

And, being a seasoned performer with The Three Towns Society, Janet was unphased by the make-up and lights at Ready Steady Cook – it felt like a home from home!

Rehearsals and Show Cancelled

Written by Kate Nixon on . Posted in Society News

Due to the current situation, the steps to protect people and to continue to stop the spread of the COVID19 virus, means we are still unable to rehearse together face-to-face. As a result, we are unable to perform our usual concerts this Autumn, 2020.

We are very sad that we are unable to perform for you this year but your health and safety is our main priority.

From Tuesday 28th July, we will be commencing virtual rehearsals. Hopefully, we will be able to see you all again next year for our G&S production, Iolanthe.

In the meantime please stay in touch. We are a strong network of people who can support and look out for one another.
